About Our Handmade Stoneware Pottery
York Hill handmade pottery is carefully crafted in stoneware to add a tasteful accent to any setting, while at the same time withstand the rigors of everyday use. Each piece of pottery is hand-thrown on an electric wheel by Elizabeth and many are hand-decorated by Susan, whose fine mastery of Oriental brushes lends York Hill Pottery its elegant flair. Fired at temperatures of 2200 degrees, stoneware pottery is in a durability class of its own: resistant to breaking and chipping, and safe for use in ovens, microwaves, and dishwashers.
Note: Much of the charm of hand-thrown pottery is that no two pieces will be precisely alike. Sizes and colors of the “same” items will vary slightly.
